My sister recently earned her college degree in social work while continuing her roles as a wife and homeschooling mom to her five kids. Katie has always accomplished anything she sets her mind to grit, determination and excellence and this was no exception. I saw her come alive talking about her classes and her passion to help children and families thrive. After spending countless late nights, early mornings and weekends in this pursuit, seeing her joy as she donned that cap and gown and accepted her diploma was the sweetest thing. I have no idea what the future holds for Katie in this field, but I know that she already has and will continue to work for this mission that is so near and dear to her heart as a foster and adoptive parent.
